A new approach
Thierry Merlin started with his first production in 1985 after taking over from his maternal grandparents named Cherrier.
Today it is Thierry’s daughter, Agathe Merlin who took over in 2021.
Located in Bué, the domaine is composed of 11 ha of Sauvignon Blanc and 2 ha of Pinot Noir spread over 30 different plots.
Agathe is convinced that a «common sense» viticulture, non-intrusive and observant is essential to sustain our terroirs and nature.
HVE Certfication Level 3, the use of AB, biocontrol approved solutions and our cultural practices are the first steps in our eco-responsible approach.
From vineyard to cellar
We do not use herbicides for the maintenance of plots and sow each year between 4 and 6 hectares of green manure. Fermentations are done at low temperature, we practice batonnage and ageing’s are done on lees in different containers such as Foudre, Amphorae and Barrels.
